Non-Surgical Procedures - Chemical Peeling

Every day our skin is producing new cells deep in the epidermis where they begin their journey upward to the skin's surface. As new cells continue to grow, old cells slough off on a daily basis. As we age this process begins to slow down, our skin starts to become dull and show dark patches, fine lines and other signs of sun damage.

Chemical peeling is an accelerated form of exfoliation that can range from superficial to deep. Depending on the level of skin improvement required and your individual skin type, a wide range of peels can be performed using peeling agents such as AHAs (lactic acid, glycolic acid), BHA (salicylic acid), TCAs or retinol peels. Specific peels will be chosen to suit your skin's concern from sun damage, pigmentation, acne, congestion and scaring.

On application, the peel causes a temporary stinging, prickling sensation that quickly passes. Warmth and redness may also occur depending on the peel chosen. Peeling or flakiness of the skin is to be expected following the peel for a period of two to five days. Your skin will take on a healthy, more youthful glow with a significant improvement in your skin tone and texture.

It is important that sun exposure is avoided and a broad-spectrum sunscreen applied before and after treatments.
