Surgical Procedures - Endoscopic Browlift
Horizontal lines on the forehead and creases between the eyebrows can make you look tired, sad, angry, or older than you truly are. These wrinkles are intensified by sun exposure, heredity, and weight gain or loss. A browlift can make the face look years younger by tightening and lifting forehead skin, thereby softening lines and decreasing the hooding around eyes. The end result is a more refreshed, youthful appearance.
During an endoscopic browlift two to five incisions are made under the hairline. The tissues are then elevated, the skin is lifted from the underlying bone and the suspension sutures are placed into the brow and pulled upwards. The skin and underlying muscles are lifted and tightened, causing the brow to lift. These are then anchored to the skull and the tiny incision is closed over. The brow will heal in the new position. The endoscopic brow lift is often combined with other facial cosmetic procedures, including facelift and blepharoplasty.
Recovery is usually one to two weeks with some local swelling and bruising that will settle down within a few days. The tiny scars are hidden within the hairline.
